Students Report Back for Term III

On September 9, students in P7, S4, S5 and S6 reported back to school, officially setting the ball rolling for Term III. With the exception of S5, all the returning students are candidates who normally report earlier than the rest of the school in preparation for their national examinations.

The candidates appeared eager to get down to business as they began what will be their final lap at Ocer before they face their respective national examinations. With everything seemingly in place, the school is ready for the serious business of classes, revision and, of course, the occasional battle with books.

A day before the students reported, staff members held a meeting to iron out plans and strategies for Term III. The meeting, which was well attended, began with Holy Mass celebrated by Fr. Kyaligonza, SJ, accompanied by Fr. Kiyaka, SJ, and Fr. Kimatu, SJ.

Following the meeting, staff members had an opportunity to share a meal and cake as they celebrated the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. It was, perhaps, a fitting way to begin a new term: planning, praying and sharing a little cake before the real work began.

Meanwhile, the school awaits the return of the continuing students—S1, S2 and S3—this Friday, September 11. Once they arrive, the entire Ocerian family will be back together and Term III will be fully underway.

We wish all our students, especially the candidates, a fruitful and successful Term III. May the hard work, determination and a little divine assistance pay off!
