Legionaries of Mary Convene, Elect OCJC Student as Curia Secretary

On October 17, Legionaries of Mary from various secondary schools across the Archdiocese of Gulu gathered at Sacred Heart Secondary School for a one-day curia meeting. The meeting aimed to reorganize the Gulu Secondary Schools Curia, which comprises twelve praesidia (local groups), and ratify several resolutions.

At Ocer, where the Legion of Mary is an active club, the event did not go unnoticed. Sixteen students, accompanied by their two patrons, Sr. Generose Kaumbuthu, NSA, and Mr. Domanzo Muhindo, set off early in the morning to attend the workshop.
And, indeed, the day proved eventful!
The programme featured a joint recitation of the Rosary, talks and discussions on the role of the curia, Legionary spirituality, apostolic service, and discipline. Participants also witnessed the election, confirmation, and installation of new curia officers. The day culminated in the celebration of Holy Mass, presided over by Fr. Anthony Acire, Spiritual Director of the Legion of Mary in the Archdiocese of Gulu.

For the Ocerians, however, the highlight of the day was the election and confirmation of OCJC student Anywar Lawrence as the first secretary of the Gulu Secondary Schools Curia. Anywar, a Senior Five student who also serves as President of the Legion of Mary at Ocer, secured fourteen votes out of twenty-six after three rounds of voting.
The entire OCJC community congratulates Anywar on his election and wishes him every blessing in his new responsibility. May his service, together with that of all Legionaries of Mary, help illumine the world for the greater glory of God.
