Nazareth Sisters celebrate the Annunciation

On March 25, the universal Church celebrated the solemnity of the Annunciation. At Ocer, the Nazareth Sisters, who identify closely with this solemnity, organized a special mass in their community. The mass began at 6pm after a heavy downpour that left at least one well-roofed house leaking. The mass, which was celebrated by the chaplain, Fr. Kiyaka, was well attended by representatives from almost all walks of life within Ocer—students, nurses, neighbors, teachers, etc.

Mass was immediately followed by the singing of the Nazareth Sisters’ anthem. To most attendants, this was their first time to hear an ‘anthem’ accompanied by laughter.

The anthem was then followed by cake-cutting and then finally a well-prepared meal plus, of course, something greater than Jonah.

Mary said ‘yes’ and remained indefatigably committed to it. How committed am I to my ‘yes’?
