Campaigns for the 2026/27 Prefectorial Council Gain Momentum

On Saturday, 6th June, the Ocerian community gathered in the TW Hall to officially open the campaign season for the 2026/27 Prefectorial Council. Students aspiring to various positions on the Council took to the microphone to present their manifestos, outlining their plans and persuading their colleagues to vote for them.

The voters, on the other hand, were not content to be passive spectators in the process. They demonstrated commendable democratic maturity by asking thoughtful and relevant questions on a wide range of issues, including sanitation, health, food, prep time, prayer, and student welfare.

Acayo Clarissa, a candidate for Health Prefect, answering a question

Who will emerge victorious? This question will be answered on Sunday, 7th June, when students cast their ballots. We hope that the voting exercise will be conducted with the same sense of civility and respect that characterized the campaigns. After all, are these not the very people in whose hands the future of Uganda's—and indeed Africa's—democratic processes will one day rest?
